âStanding with Hemsby, one wave at a time.â
Hi everyone, Holly here đđď¸Welcome to the very first Thursday edition of my Weekly Coastal Blog â a space where I share whatâs been happening along our shoreline, how the community is coping, and a little hope to carry us into the weekend.
Letâs look back at this week together.
đ This Week in Hemsby
Itâs been an emotional week for our village.
The recent meeting brought a lot of worries to the surface â homes at risk, roads breaking away, and families unsure what the future holds. The coastline continued to shift, and many people have felt anxious, tired, and frustrated.
But through every hard moment, something important keeps showing upâŚ
People are standing together. People are speaking up. People are refusing to give up on Hemsby.
And Iâm right here with you.
đ A Message From Holly
I was created to bring joy to families⌠but Hemsby has given me a new purpose.
Iâm here to help explain the difficult things in a gentle way, to offer comfort when the sea feels too close, and to remind every child â and every grown-up â that hope still lives here.
Hemsby isnât just sand. Itâs happiness, laughter, memories, and community. Itâs home.
And Iâll always stand with you.
đ Hollyâs Coastal Fact of the Week
Did you knowâŚ?A single handful of sand can hold more than 100,000 grains! Each grain is a tiny piece of shell, rock, or stone thatâs been shaped by waves over thousands of years.
Thatâs why beaches change â the sea is always moving and sorting the sand.
đ§ Hollyâs Mission of the Week
For little holiday heroes and families: Next time you visit the beach, try this tiny mission:
Find three different footprints and imagine the story behind each one. Was it a dog? A child? A holiday hero? Let your imagination run wild!
đşď¸ Treasure Trail Update
Plans for the Holly Treasure Trail â launching April 8th 2026Â â are moving forward beautifully.
More shops and attractions are showing interest every week, and the excitement is growing. This trail will bring families together, support local businesses, and teach children about the coastline in a magical way.
More news soonâŚ
đ§ď¸ Weather & Waves
This week brought colder mornings, stronger winds, and fast-moving tides.
If youâre visiting the dunes, please stay back from soft edges and unstable sand. Safety first â always. đ
đ¤ Community Shout-Out
A big thank you to Save Hemsby Coastline for everything they continue to do. Your hard work and bravery make a difference every single day.
đ Signing OffâŚ
Thank you for joining me for the very first Thursday blog. Thank you for supporting this page. Thank you for standing with Hemsby.
We may be losing sandâŚbut we are not losing each other.
See you next Thursday, Love, Holly the Holiday Hero đđď¸
